Recovery in full swing

Recovery in full swing

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Hey all,
last night the doctors decided not to extubate him because he was grimacing in pain as they were reducing his medication. This was primarily because he is going in for surgery today at 12:00 pm and they wanted to prep him for that anyway. The surgery today entails scoping out the burn damages to his jaw line and beginning reconstructive surgery. Also, they will look at the burns on his chest, which may or may not need skin grafts and either start today or wait until friday to commence. Besides his jaw, his right foot and ankle are the most severely burned and will most probably require some plastic surgery as well. Their hope is to allow for his skin to heal on its own as much as possible without plastic surgery (Skinery as Charlie likes to call it).
We'll let you know how the operation went later this afternoon. Feel free to post any questions that you might have, well do our best to answer them or find someone who can. Day by day,

Zach and Charlie

Let us not be in fear or worry, but in faith believing that God is love.

Matthew 5:28-34

28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Hey, can I ask how his foot is? Are they going to be able to keep it?
